Lego Maniacs

  • October 22, 2005
Here we see some folks working to build a Lego "Research Vessel", though I say it looks like a barge. This January the School of ECE will be hosting the FIRST Lego League as it has done for the past few years.

Matt and I visited Atlantic Station yesterday for its first Friday night, primarily to score a view of Collective Soul playing for free. My goal was also to score some photos (does that go without saying? probably ...), but about 30 minutes before the show was to begin, Hurricane Wilma showed her own ideas as the sky turned from deep blue to dark grey, then to bright flashes of lightning every 15 seconds. Right as we made it into the deck, the bottom fell out and drenched the area for about 20 minutes. Once we made it to the show venue, a security officer began closing the gates and announced that the show was cancelled. Of course, the rain stopped 5 minutes later, but we went up to the mall level and joined Tommy and the IHP crowd in front of FOX Sports Grill, which looked more like a club given the line at the entrance. After walking the grounds for a while and watching the fireworks at 9pm, the three of us headed to Steak 'n' Shake for ... what everyone gets at Steak 'n' Shake. It was still an excellent evening.
