Ariel's Idea of Photojournalism

I made an interesting discovery tonight; I have done a bit of troubleshooting regarding my 1GB flash card getting quite slow in my camera. It's an 80x, but scrolling between photos in playback mode would take about 1.5-2 seconds per photo. It turns out that the extra non-photo files I had stored on it were seriously bogging down the camera's software. I finally figured this out by backing up those files on my PC and reformatting the card in the camera - now it's kickin' fast again. I was within sight of making an RMA to Lexar to get the CF card fixed, but it's pretty clear now that this is a problem with the software in the Canon Digital Rebel. Hopefully the newer Canons don't suffer from this likely rare (since most people don't use their cards for anything but photos) but annoying problem.

Now I just hope this fixed the occasional corruption problems I have been having, too.
