Copper Compression

Pennies on the tracks in Norcross, waiting to get squished by a train. I've always wanted to try making a smushed-coin sandwich with a few different coins, but I've never gotten around to it. Simply stacking the coins probably wouldn't work; I imagine they would fall off before they were merged together, so it might take a bit of adhesive between them.

Cool. Did you guys get any "after" pictures?

If you did penny, dime, penny, that'd squish into an oreo.

You should place an oreo.

if the train is going really fast, it may be dangerous to put too much on the track. according to http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mtrackpenny.html it probably won't matter, but I wouldn't want to be responsible for the derailment of a train!

Coins are quite malleable under the weight of a train wheel, and I would bet a whole roll of pennies would still not cause any noticeable effect on the train itself.
