As Jennifer and I strolled through Old Town Alexandria, VA, we noticed this construction crew digging at various spots in the street. I enjoyed seeing the old streetcar rails that had been revealed from beneath the asphalt. I'm not sure why this construction was being performed, but when we passed this spot a few hours later on our return walk, the hole had already been filled and completely repaved. Of course, this was quite the change from what I'm used to in Atlanta, where we'd cover the hole with a metal plate for two months before refilling it.

s'cool to see those tracks the way they used to be. If you dig deeper, you'll see horse tracks.
