Mountains Azul

Earlier in the day I helped Jesse work on a prop for his Halo outfit, a plasma sword. The tough part of the project involves squeezing a small circuitboard into the handle, to light the sword with UV LEDs, starting with a board that's about 1/8" too long in width and length, and 1/2" too tall. We purchased (and acquired from Dr. Brewer) replacement parts and I resoldered them into more compact positions. In the end, it barely fit and I felt like a real EE. Tom watched for a few minutes and I think he might have learned something about soldering.
The evening wrapped up with a nice game of half-drunk ERF (the drunken half being Tom and Matt while Katie and I played sober). Tom's reflexes weren't harmed by his Heinekens, so the game lasted quite a while.

dammit, that sounds like fun. boo for not being there! and i'm proud of you, EE-boy! at your recommendation, i went to the air and space museum in dc. it was quite cool, but every time i looked at the complex circuitry involved in some of the spacecraft and satellites i felt so hopeless, like, i wonder if i'll ever be able to do something like that... ;P
