Christine, Jennifer, Matt, and I weathered the crowds at Lenox to catch the ashes of their nifty pyro show. It rained, it sooted, and we sweated, but it was good to watch. All in all, I believe that I walked around 11 or 12 miles on the 4th, and my ankles refused to let me forget it, so stairs have not been fun. Oh yeah, the first 6.2 miles were the Peachtree :) Jen and my sis were the only ones to get photos, and I'm bummed that I couldn't, but running was a rewarding test as well.

I find it hard to write a significant amount of text in my blog. Plenty of things happen throughout each day to warrant discussion, but when I sit down and begin to type, the stories that come to mind have already been told, so they tend to bore me. I'm bored with my own stories.

One of those stories happened simply on the on-ramp from 10th street to I-75. I consider myself a conscientious driver, and I tend to notice possible threats, like the stuff sitting on the ladder frame of the pickup truck to my front. I think "What if it were to fall when he speeds up; I'll hang back a bit". As we approached the illegal I-75 speeds that unite all Atlanta motorists, a large piece of cabinetry went vertical above the truck, so I braked and swerved into the null space of the left merging lane as the cabinet door slammed into the ground beside me and slid several more feet. As the truck pulled over to recover the door, I pulled back into traffic feeling a sense of "beating the system".
